Our Service

Every Sunday at 10:00AM

We offer a Christian worship service, blending traditional and contemporary features.
It typically includes the following:
  • A welcome and call to worship, followed by a time for reflection, meditation, and silent prayer, accompanied by a quiet organ prelude.
  • An Opening Hymn.
  • An Invocation, followed by Announcements, and a time to Share Celebrations and Concerns.
  • A time to Praise the Lord through music with uplifted voices.
  • A Pastoral Prayer, followed by the Lord's Prayer.
  • The Offering, followed by congregational singing of either "Bless His Holy Name" or "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow."
  • A Reading from the Holy Scriptures.
  • The Pastor's Message.
  • A Closing Hymn.
  • Closing Words and Benediction.
  • By tradition, the congregation sings one verse of "God Be With You 'Till We Meet Again" after the Benediction.
  • A beautiful and joyful Postlude played on the organ, during which the congregation remains seated.

Children are invited to leave the service for Sunday School before the message.

On the first Sunday in each month we celebrate the Lord's Supper. All of God's children are welcome to the Lord's table to share in communion. Although ancient and many modern services of Holy Communion use wine, our own centuries -long tradition is to use grape juice. In a modern context, the use of grape juice expresses concern for recovering alcoholics, and enables young people under the age of 21 to participate.

We use a blend of traditional and contemporary music. In our service we use both our century-old tracker pipe organ for preludes and postludes, and to accompany the singing of traditional hymns. We also use the modern guitar to accompany praise music of a contemporary nature. Our sanctuary is small, intimate, and a marvelous space for organ, guitar, and either the augmented or the unaided human voice.

Our services are followed immediately afterwards by a coffee hour and fellowship time in the church vestry. About once a month, our fellowship time is followed by an always-delicious potluck luncheon!

Our Services are both adult-friendly and children-friendly!

Bring your family, friends, and neighbors!

Audio-amplification (for the hearing impaired) is available.
